: Last night I almost croaked when my husband said that I could have a pair of sugargliders. I have been wanting to have a pair so that they would be more content and also, so we could have a little family.
: We know what is involved in having a single sg, but what is different about having a pair? What I mean by a pair is a male and a female.
: I would like to have some advice before I jump into this.
: Thanks,

As Bourbon said, please read ALL the archives. That will give you a lot of info. For myself, I ask that before you get two you get one and make sure that a glider is what you really want. If yes then choose who will bond too it. BTW if you get a girl first, bond to her, then get the boy if you relly want too. Reason being, boys are stinkier. I got my boy first, he decided that I was his and he was mine so he would leave his scent on me. It's kind of a cross between musky/spice/fruity. Also, when frightened, for any reason, they give off a skunky smell! It doesn't last long but WHEW does it smell for that 20 seconds! If you are thinking of breeding, please think about all the people out there who think that gliders are sooo cute but have no knowledge of how to care for them. Jess brought to our attention, that TEEN PEOPLE mag. said that gliders are popular but didn't say how many Dalmations were put to sleep or abandend after the release of 101 Dalmations was released. Also, if you intend om getting 2 gliders make sure, with the breeder, that they are completely unrelated. You really don't want a bro' and sis' to mate. It could be really bad for them and you. Hope this helps! Glider love and nibbles, Diana
