: Hiya

: One morning about 5 months ago, when I was still researching gliders, I was watching TV in the morning, and people came on it with gliders. It was like only 7-10 minutes but it was neat. They sounded like they were discouraging owning gliders too, and at the time, I was mad.
: But now, I'm happy that they did that because so many people
: that would've thought about getting one, probobly thought twice. Im almost 17 (i say im 17). I know for a fact that all of my friends, who've wanted a glider, wouldve gotten bored of it. It seems very attractive to have an animal with you all the time. I even knew a girl that wanted one for attention and all she was planning on feeding it was bird food and trail mix! I agree totally with all of the adults on this site and I respect them because of their efforts. Sure at first it seems like they dont want us to be owners ourselves, but now I'm the exact same way, and I always will be. I want people to know the truth,
: and I don't want other people that dont even OWN gliders to
: write stuff up about them and glorify them. They ARE good pets, if you CAN PROPERLY care for them. I picked up the teen magazine today, and I was mad. I know how many people read that magazine, and I know people that try so hard to be "in" and "cool" that when they see this, they are going to want one and try their hardest to get one just to be cool. It did make me mad and I think that everyone that wrote their opinions on this topic had a right to. Gliders are for people who are seriously devoted to animals. And thats putting it lightly. They arent your common house pet.
: Their diets are different and there isnt any one kind of food you can feed them, like cat food or dog food, for instance. Anyways, sorry if Im babbling.
: Thanks goes out to all those who care enough to be strict and not be affraid to make people uneasy about getting a glider. Its the "doubting myself" part that makes people research and either become more serious, or totally forget about them.
