Congrats on your new glider, they are lots of fun and will be you best buddy if you treat him well. I have to say Pockets is one of the cuter names I have heard on this board for awhile. Anyway, to answer your questions, bonding with your glider takes a long time. YOu will not be bonded in a week. Or two weeks, maybe not a month. Just be patient and you will see progress. When you think you are bonded, your glider will do somethingto show he is even more bonded to you than you thought. Just be gentle with your little one, and if he doesn't want to play with you, just talk to him, or let him see you or something. Both of my gliders liked napping with me when I got them during the day-I would wrap them up in a piece of cloth or put them in a pillow and just sit with themclose, or let them sleep in my collar. My gliders didn't really want to play for several weeks, but bonding was accomplished just being with them. Good luck, and don't let your glider intimidate you with its crabbing. As for your fish tank, I would buy some wire mesh and tape the edges so they are not sharp, and put a rock or something on it so your glider cannot push it. you might show your glider the water in the tank and get her wet-my gliders hate water and won't go near anywhere they know they could get wet. gliders can't really climb up regular walls-they can climb woodwork and jump to pictures and curtains and stuff like that though. Once my glider climbed a wooden book shelf that was prefectly smooth, just by digging her claws in, but only once have I seen her do anything like that. My gliders don't come when I call them, but I think some people's do. Mine do know "No!" though, and come out if they hear me in their room. Gliders do respond to your tone of voice and will show off for you if they are in the mood.
