Hi Ashley!

It's great that you are doing your research FIRST! Gliders are great pets IF you have tons of time and patience, and you are willing to devote a lot of your life to your baby for the next 10-15 years. I think getting a glider is about as close to having a child as you can get without actually having one - you have to SG proof your house, be sure to always have nutritious food on hand, chop it every night, balance their diet, etc. Read the archives here - this is a great source of info. Next, there is a great book by Caroline MacPhearson called Sugar Gliders as Your Pet, or some such. Be sure to read that - it has lots of info. Talk to people you know who have gliders (here is a good place, too) and be sure to ask about the downside. (You may get scratched, bitten, they take loads of time, etc) Gliders aren't cheap either - it will set you back $200 or more to get one, then about $100 for a cage, plus toys and food, etc. If all this sounds okay to you, then great! A SG might be the pet for you! I love my Eos and wouldn't trade her for the world!
Best of luck, and welcome to the site!
Tiffany
