Tiffany : Hi,you guys! Just some interesting glider facts and tips I thought you guys might like. :)I got it from the GIN(glider information network). Bye! : Twickel : P.S. I had a lot more but I seem to have lost them! Darn! If I ever find them I'll post 'em. : ____________________________________________________________ : Did you know in the wild a SG can glide up to 330 ft! They use their tail as a rudder to help them steer through the air.________________________________________________________ : WHy are SG first and second digit on the rear feet partially fused together??? They use this for a grooming comb!______________________________________________________ : The tail of a SG is not a prehensile tail..thus they do not hang from it. You should also be very careful if you pick up your SG by the tail._____________________________________ : Do you all keep a temperature guage inside your Glider's cage?Hope so. Gliders cages should say a constant 80 degrees F, for proper health. Guage that cage!______________ : Types of branches to use and not to use...Stay away from any fruit branches just to be safe. Cherry or peach type branshes and their seeds are dangerous to SG. Try a hardwood instead. ALWAYS wash the branch well before putting it in the cage. Ask your vet or qualified pet store employess to help you find the right one to buy. Also visit your local zoo and see what they are using!
