: Okay I just got my glider today and was putting my finger through the cage for it just to kind of get a scent and nip at it (my finger) so I could show it that biting does not do any good... but this glider's teeth feel like two fingernails pinching you very hard! and I know it's not supposed to feel like that when it is a baby because they are not supposed to have that many teeth! I tried the yogurt but won't she just bite me anyways? Well gotta go please respond quickly... Cammie is sleeping right now. hurry!

First of all how old is your glider? If it is young Bourbon told me that when they nip they are usually hungry or teething.
My joey is 3 mo from birth approx. and he nips. If your glider is biting hard or you don't want it to nip you blow in it's face
when he starts to nip or bite. I was also told that it is a sign of affection but since you got him today that is highly unlikely
why he is biting. If you read down all of the entries you will learn alot from experienced owners. Whatever you do DO NOT hold his head under
water gliders cannot hold their breath and can get the water in their lungs which can cause pneumonia and die. I am a new owner myself but with the help
of all of these nice people I am learning alot. It will also help if you have a book to help you too. Don't forget to give him gliderade or
repcal or some sort of supplement and make sure you give him a calcium supplement too because of the calcium deficiency. If you only have one
glider pay alot of attention to it also because it can get lonely depressed and die. I hope I helped some. You may also try lowfat yogurt or
some type of fruit baby food on your finger to keep it from biting it licks the food instead of biting you.
