Message: A thought occured to me. As I am waiting for my new arrival (Tilly) to come out of the pouch, I was wondering about something that Foster did. Since the second or third day that I had Foster, he lived on my schedule. I didn't do it on purpose... I never woke him up in the middle of the day much. He simply heard me, and wanted desperately to be with me wherever I was. Granted, in the bright daylight, that was in my shirt. But in general, he got up when I got up, and went to bed when I went to bed. If Tilly does this, should I try to discourage it? Since gliders are nocturnal, being diurnal could be harmful. Then again, my father has worked 11pm to 7am for the last four years and it hasn't hurt him a bit, even though humans are supposed to be diurnal. So what do you think? I feel like a new parent. I want to do everything right with Tilly that I did wrong with Foster. One more thing.. Foster was about 6 months OOP when he died. Could his sporadic sleep habits have to do with the fact that he was still a child? I never had an adult glider... would he have become more nocturnal as he aged? Thanks for any input. :) Kim S.
