The only problem I have with your response, is that all too often on this board : I'm very flattered that you would see me as a good poster but... I have gotten most of my info from Bourbon and Betsy. There are others who have contributed to my knowledge but as Bourbon has suggested to countless others, I did do the research by reading the archives and I do suggest the same to others. Read my post to "Would be and glider owners", I give the very same advice as Bourbon and even contribute that advice to her. To say that Bourbon MAY be harsh is just to validate her feelings about the gliders. She only wants the best for the gliders and that translates into being the best for their owners as well as discouraging those who only want them because they are cute or a "fad" pet. No pet should be gotten because they are "cool" or "cute". This is the very reason that pets like puppies and kittens are discarded to the humane society after the cutness has worn off. Hundreds maybe even thousands of pets are put down every year 'cause the cutness has worn off after the pet is given as a gift at the holidays or rabbits and chicks grow-up after easter. This isn't fair to the animal! It isn't fair to an animal that imprints on a human then, when the human seems to think that they can no longer make any time for the pet, the pet suffers. Sound familiar? If you have had gliders for 8 years, where have you been hidding? Why not give us the bennifit of your work instead of picking on one who has tried only to help gliders and their parents grow together. I've read Bourbon's responces to those who thought that it was hopeless to try to bond, and she is ever the opptimist and offers help to anyone that asks. So what if she sometimes MAY seem harsh, she still helps and isn't that the most immportant thing? I know that by posting I may now be on your list of "don't like anymores" , but that doesn't matter to me. What matters to me and Bourbon is that the gliders are WELL taken care of and if Bourbon want's to correct me on this that's o.k too she has corrected my advise before and I take it as it is. She DOES know more than me and I am more than willing to say "my bad" and move on. I hope you can too. Glider love and nibbles Diana
