I mean the gliders that are captive bred would be doomed. People buy them because they are cute and dump them when they get tired of them. Or when they die of lack of care because people don't know anything about taking care of them and numerous other reasons why gliders would be dumped or dead. There are people who take perfect care of their gliders without the net, but there are more who buy because of cuteness. Bourbon is doing a damn good job telling people to read the archives. She is making sure they know the cons not just the pros of gliders. Therefore the people who are looking for a cute pet will be discouraged from getting a glider who has special needs. I know you and some others could probably care less, but this is my last post on this subject and I'm leavng this board.
Until I stop seeing people trash other people for doing good things even if they do get a little harsh I'm not coming back.

: Doomed...???....hardly. I think you overestimate the importance
: of this webboard. First, not all glider owners have internet access,
: so there are people out there who are doing fine without input from
: this board. Second, gliders are alive and well in their natural habitat.
: Gliders are not anywhere near being doomed. I believe in what I have been told all my
: life, "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything". Being harsh
: is never the way to deal with someone asking questions. It is rude to the person
: asking the question.

: From what I have seen, on this board, certain people on this board jump
: on people asking questions. I see less and less real information
: about Sugar gliders every time I look on this page. We should just
: name this current set of posts the 'Negative things about Gliders' archive.

: I don't buy it when people say 'Oh, you don't know how hard it
: is for me to read the same question for the 200th time' or 'You don't
: know how upseting it is to always seem to be answering the same questions'
: My message to these people is: If you are so sick of answering these
: questions DON'T ANSWER THEM.

: The people I am talking about fall into the same snobby group of
: people on the internet who's response to every question about something
: is "RTFM" or "Go read the FAQ". All you high and mighty people
: not willing to answer a question without becoming 'harsh' to the
: asker should remember that at some point and time you had to ask
: questions as well.

: To end my rant, If I go to my vet to ask her a question. She
: doesn't tell me to go read up on it, or do research, she answers
: the question, because she loves animals and likes to help others
: learn.
: : I agree totally. If it weren't for people like Diana and Bourbon(and others)gliders would be a doomed species. Bourbon can be harsh, but what she does is right.
