I cut Jerry and Cherie's nails at night when they are awake. Mine sit still and watch me cut. They struggle when I try to cut them when they sleep. I do put them under a light to make sure I don't cut the vein and I haven't yet. I just put one at a time on my knee and grab(gently)one paw and starrt cutting. Mine are very tolerant and trusting. If yours isn't as tolerant, I suggest the wodent wheel. Very good idea. Kim
