My male started this at 4 months oop. According to your date that makes him 5 months oop, so it really isn't too young.. the average ages are between 4 and 18 months, so that really does give it quite a spread..But I guess it is like people some develope sooner than others. Perfectly normal, if he hasn't shown it without her being around yet, just wait he will..I remeber when my husband fir seen it, Smokey was in his pocket and he had a red T-shirt on. My husband thought it was a loose string and when he put his fingers in the pocket to remove it, (he didn't touch it) it moved, My hubby freaked..he didn't know what it was. After all the research I had done I was aware as to what it was, but I read they didn't mature for 16 - 18 months. My hubby said Smokey was like him, and just blessed..good luck
