: : Forgive me if I repeat someone else's question--I just don't have time to go through ALL of the archives yet. I got myself a bouncing baby boy a couple of days ago and I am concerned about him--he trembles. I have been trying to bond with him and I have brought him with me n the little ouch I have for him, and during the day while he is asleep he is fine, but periodically he wakes up and during the times that he is more awake he will tremble quite a bit. I don't want the little guy to be frightened or to ruin any chance of good bonding by frightening him....what can I do here? Please let me know! Thanks-- : : Starrbaby : Hold him in your hand up against your body. He is afraid : and this is why he is trembling. Put yourself in the : gliders place. Think how huge and scarey you are to him : and how huge your hands look to him. Before you pick him : up, make sure you wash your hands so there isn't an odor : on your hands that frightens him...yes this happens. Always : approach your glider slowly and scoop him up rather than : pick him up from above. Let him sniff the back of your hand : first, this is less frightening to a glider than fingers. : So, cup you hand and gently scoop him up and sit in a chair : for a couple hours with him gently pressed against your : chest so he can hear/feel your heartbeat. This will slowly : over a period of days or weeks help quiet him and earn his : trust which is what he needs most right now. While your : holding him like that pet the top of his head and back with : your thumb.while talking softly to him so he learns the : sound of your voice. Good Luck. Please remember, bonding can : take anywhere from a week to many months depending on the : indivdual animal. They all have different personalities. SHERRY-- Thank you so much for your input on the situation. I will definately try this and I am pretty sure it will help. Thanks again! Starr
