: : I heard my sugarglider, Onyx, bark for the first time last night. My question is does this barking mean in anyway that he is upset or unhappy? Or is it just a thing that I shouldn't worry about.

: Melissa, barking is Onyx's way of looking for other gliders. That is, barking is their way of calling out, "anyone home?" I have found that with a single glider it becomes a cry for attention, more along the lines of, "It's been all this time and no one has played with me!"
: My first glider, Velcro, would bark in the morning when I started to stir in my bed. She figured out that I was there and barking was her way of saying, "where are you? come play with me!"
: Take this as a very good sign, your glider is finally associating you with fun, food, and attention.
: Velcro, Mickey and Dela(the extra big sugarglider)

Thankyou so much for your response. I am glad to hear this. I appreciate your time. Melissa and Onyx
