On the vein thing, as I said in my previous post, it helps to see the nails under some light. You can actually see where the vein ends. Also, I started giving Eos a TINY bit of cheese after each nail trimming. Now, I swear she looks forward to getting her nails cut! The biting and crabbing has stopped!
: I clip my sg's nails with baby nail clippers. You can get them at Walmart for 97cents. I try to clip his nails when I am holding him and he is asleep. He seems to be more trusting then. One major warning they have a vein there and you have to be very careful not to clip to much because they will bleed very badly. I think the suggestion that I heard is 1/16th of and inch. You also might want to check in to those wodent wheels that file nails down as they exercise. You can get mor info about them from previous posts. Hope this helps. Melissa and Onyx
