I have two new sugar gliders for about three weeks. My husband built a wonderful cage that is 2ft by 2ft by 5' 5" tall. It has a door almost half its size. I can place both arms in the cage. mitey mouse and zorro are sitting on my hands already to eat treats and they run right up my arms if they want to come up. They almost never crab anymore. Zorro chuckles to me and and drapes over my arm with half a raw peanut in each hand. They zoom up and down ropes and around the square reinforcements. They can get to know the other pets in the house by going to the floor or to the top. They have a funny call at about four am which is when I usually get up that sounds like crickets. I take them half a peanut. I got them from Beverly Oakes Glider Gulch in Texas and Highly recommend her. They are very special and gentle. She has pouches for sale. Look her up on the Internet. The only time they ever crab if if you let light into the pouch. I don't think they can see well at this time. I can stick my hands in the pouch and leave them without any crabbing and pet them but they don't like the pouch being opened. The ropes which hang from top to bottom are really fun to watch . They are truely agile and zoom up and down and glide across. They are big eaters and Beverly's advice to feed about a half cup for two gliders of great variety really works.
