Why do you think they cut ferrets? The vet I bought my gliders from mistakenly sold me a male and a female. She has already had one baby, a female, and will soon be ready for another. Gliders in captivity breed at a faster rate than do gliders in the wild. Such rapid reproduction is unhealthy to say the least and could eventually kill the overworked female. I hate to separate my pair as they are so close, but I certainly don't want to be a breeder. Nuetering my male would be most helpful, but I don't know how to go about this as nobody has had any information up to this point. Good post! I have successfully had two of my males neutered. The first time it was tricky. Now he has it mastered and the glider is awake immediately afterwards with no anesthisia (sp?) hangover. My vet is a great guy. He will consult with other vets. If you have a vet willing to do the operation, email me and I will give you my vets phone no.
