Hi!
This is just my opinion - I'll start with that disclaimer - but I cut Eos's nails about every two weeks. If I just cut the tiny tip, she can still climb and things, but I don't get scratched as much. It's kind of an art; the first couple of times I cut too much and she couldn't hold on, so now I would rather err on the side of caution. I still get scratches occasionally, but Neosporin clears them up pretty fast. Washing the area is good, too, like Maria said. I know some people use the sandpaper deal, but I have also read that this is hard on their little foot pads, so be sure to take it out after a day or two. As to whether cutting is cruel or not, there seems to me to be a balance somewhere there. Cutting until they can't hold on is bad, but leaving nails too long can cause them to get a foot caught and break their little legs, so some cutting is important. Just think about what will make you and the glider happiest together; you don't want to be scratched or for him to fall, and he doesn't want to get caught on things or not have you play with him. Anyway, that's how I look at it.

: Hi, Its me again with another question and concern. When my girls crawl on me my hands, arms, and chest get all whelped up and cut. I ware long sleeve shirts, but my hands still get affected. I have considered getting their nails cut but they will still have nails that stick me just smaller ones.
: I've read the archives on nail cliping and the sandpaper in the wheel, but they don't like the wheel very much. Please give me some advice.
: Thank You,
: Layla
