: The same thing happens to me sometimes. Are you useing a "WODENT WHEEL"? Also We use rubbing alcohol on the scratches immediatly. It burns a little but the long lasting stinging isn't there and neither is the itching. I must say though, I honestly don't think it is an allergy, but it may be. Their nails are very sharp and once the tip gets into a pore it hurts like heck and it will welt. We use the rubbing alcohol just enough to wipe over the scratched area. Works wonders.
