When Nahan was about nine months old I found him dead. I had my vet do an autopsy but he never found anything wrong with him. We are now ready to get a another one but before I do I wanted to know if anyone every had this happen to their sugar glider. Thanks Lizzie and Susan : Could have been poor breeding. I have read stories about crippled gliders that were never fed properly. Nor was the mom fed right while pregnant. I would suggest buying your next glider from a licensed Breeder. I breed them myself I'm not telling this to make you buy one, I'm only 16, money is the last thing I care about. What I'm trying to say is if you go down to those reptile shows and you see a glider. The guy is only trying to get your money. He don't care about the glider or yourself. I usually sell mine at reptile shows. I've had kids young as 6 with a wad of money asking me how much they are. I ask them, "do you know how to take care of it."they say "what is it." At this point I just like to tell them to open a cool aid stand . tHey then said he's was going do buy it. I then told hin no. Why? You do not know how to take care of it.He then went bought one from someone else. haapens every time I go down there. After I tell peopleI won't sell them one they swear, yell, and even hit me. After I got hit by an adult I walked up to him and asked him what was his proplem was he got in my face so I stuck him in his nose and broke it. I din't get trouble. But I thaught it was fuuny because he had to tell his wife that 16 year old kid that breeds gliders broke his nose My point is you gotta watch who your buying from. People these days are so selefish. It really hurts mwe that sommone could take advantage and abuse such harmless creature.
