: We have a male glider and want to get a companion for him. Is it best to get a female or a male glider for him? I heard two males fight due to being a territorial creature. Is that true? I'd rather get a male because we wouldn't have to get him fixed. But on the other hand getting him fixed would stop his crazy hormones. Any advice on this? Please e-mail or post. Thanks.

You can put two males together and have them as cage mates if it is done from an early age. Even at that it is not always a successful pairing. I have two boys, brothers, that had to be separated at just 3 months oop. Yes they are very territorial and your chances of a successful pairing would be increased if you neutered one of the males. That is no guarentee mind you, they may still fight, but the chance of serious harm is lessened. They have been known to fight to the death. It is the same with two females, sometimes a successful pairing can be obtained but most often they too will fight and can fight to the death of one of them.
