: Thanks everyone for the ideas. I will let everyone know what I decide to do. It seems like the majority of the suggestions are to dump the wood nestbox and go with something else.
: Well, that brings me to another question. My gliders are not the tamest gliders, and had never been handled until I got them so I am a little nervous to move them into a new box while they have babies. Is there any chance they would get too stressed or scared and stop caring for the babies?
: I just dont want to raise any problems, right now especially.
: Thanks again, everyone really had great suggestions.

you could try putting something in the box they are using now...maybe a piece of cloth or something...leave it in there for a couple days until it gets their scent on it...and then if you decide to switch to a new box, put that piece of cloth in the new one, that way the new box smells familiar to them.
i don't have any personal experience with gliders raising joeys, but it seems like this would work. i did it when i switched my gliders nestbox, and he just jumped right into the new one like nothing had happened...

hope this helps,
Bell
