I saw a morning show on Poinsettias a couple of years ago. The doctor also said that they aren't as toxic as people believe. Two hours after the show, my then 2 year old ate a couple of leaves off my plant. I called poison control and they had me give her milk and watch for allergic reactions. She was fine, but I still didn't let her eat any more leaves :)
