: : I'm considering adopting a pair of sugar gliders, but I spoke with Outback Pets in Austin and they said gliders and ferrets don't mix. According to the man I spoke with, my ferret will try to eat the gliders. My ferret is so sweet, that's hard to imagine.

: : I have 2 cats, but I think they're too snooty to bother the gliders. One of them plays with the ferret and the other doesn't play with anyone, so I'm not worried so much about the cats. Does anyone out there live with sugar gliders and ferrets? How do they get along? Is this really a bad idea? Any comments will be appreciated.

: I have two ferrets and I want a sugar glider but I would not trust them together because I got a baby chicken and the ferret got a hold of her lucky for me I got the chicken out of my ferrets mouth in time to help her but a sugar glider is really different smaller and more motive and that means more timpting (spelling?)

Danya,
I have one glider, two cats, and three ferrets. My ferrets are not out when I get my glider out and I keep my cats away from me while I play with my glider. My cats think it is funny to sleep on top of Bailey's (the glider) cage but Bailey doesn't seem to mind... it's almost like he has a bond with them!! My mother also has a cat and 2 gliders and her cat sleeps atop of her cage also. I wouldn't try to have the ferrets and the glider become "friends" that would seem dangerous. If you do get any gliders (which I highly recommend if you have the time) keep the ferrets locked up while you have the glider out. I've had no problems that way.
