another could be a hormonal imbalance in the female. Take your gliders to a knowledgeable vet for an evaluation. These are wild animals you are dealing with and each one is individual. If you cleaned the cage, you may have stressed the mom or dad and........
it's hard to say exactly why, it's sad and darn frustrating, but you aren't alone. What made one's joey's be canibalized may not be why another one's disappeared. sorry to hear about your loss, please keep us posted if you get advice from a vet or come to a reasonable conclusion.
: There are several reasons for eating babies. It is possible the baby wasn't as health as it looked to you. If the mother sensed a problem, she might reject the baby. If the baby died for any reason, the parents would eat it. It is also possible that your diet isn't quite adequate. Also, if the room temp. dropped and the baby took a chill and died, the parents would eat it. It could also be that the parents were feeling stressed due to extra noise, change in lighting, change of season, etcl.
