: Susan asked me in a past post if her jokes were that bad because I was answering them seriously, I seen the jest in the post, I was answering seriously because when people are info hungry and some know little to nothing about gliders, They make take a post like that seriously.. I don't want it to seem as if I was trying to stop, By NO MEANS was I trying to do that, This board can always use a lighter side.. If there was a way that the poster could tell in advance or something.. I don't know I guess I will do as I have been doing and asnwer the jokes as if it were a serious question.. My main fear is what would happen if someone that didn't know it was a joke would try some things..Or If they got thinking.. ahhhh this may work.. There has to be a happy medium somewhere.. We need the lighter side, with so much biting, crabbing etc.. some owners must go through, a lighter side is needed..IS there a happy medium?? well I hope so,,
: My response then, is the same as my response now..
: with many times dealing with new people and many times kids and teens.. there are new people that come in here not knowing anything about gliders at all.. I can see a kid trying to take it's glider into the bathtub with them, i also picture them putting them on a board and falling in, kicking, screaming thrashing for their lives, I do have a wonderful sense of humor, but i have to watch out for what someone else may think as well.. After all How would you feel if 2 weeks from now, someone wrote you saying they made a boat for thei glider but it tipped and their glider fell in but was kicking so bad that the scratching was too much, it swallowed a bunch of water and died of pnemmonia .. I personally would feel like crap. So I give advice for those that may look at it seriously..
: I am Sorry if I seem like a snob or a prude, but you don't know me and A snob I am not.. Can be though , But not as a general rule..

By no means. I've been reading this page since August 98, and I've had my gliders since Jan 98. I feel like I'm doing a good job and I use the better part of my common sense in raising them. My babies are healthy and happy. But I'm always looking for new information on other things I can do for them.
When I was reading Susan's posts about a bubble bath and a gliderboat, I thought "well maybe ?", but then reconsidered the idea, knowing gliders shouldnt get soaked. However, brushing their teeth was new to me. I know about brushing my dogs teeth, but gliders? I REALLY thought I had missed something in MY training.

Bourbon, you're right to answer ALL sugarglider CARE questions seriously. I'm not a child or a teenager, nor am I stupid or even a new owner, but I thought she WAS serious until I read later posts. I do appreciate a lighter side to this board (like the fashion joke), but not where glidercare is concerned.

Please continue to keep up the EXCELLENT work in providing information on our favorite little furry friends.
