A year ago I got an SG from a pet store. What a mistake. To this this day he is freaked out and I have much trouble getting him to trust me. He loves to come out of his cage but once he is out he freaks and becomes very aggitated (even if we don;t go near him and let him explore). We got him at 10 months. Also- he will not eat fruit- the breeder and pet store only fed him dry foods. So- on recommendation from my vet I give him supplements on his kitten food and in his water. I can honestly say I am dissatisfied. My sister has the sweetest glider in the world and was looking for something like that. So- my advice- go through a breeder even if you have to drive for some hours- For a pet that lasts as long as glider's do you want to make sure you get the right one. I would only buy from a breeder and get a baby one. I wish I had. Also- they smell very bad. Mine still gets freaked out when I open his cage to put in food and pees and poops all over himself. So- be prerared to clean a cage often. Personally, I have foud that my ferrets have made much better pets. Good luck with your search- I hope you find a better one then I did.
