My gliders make that raspy blowing hissing noise
quite often. It seems to be them calling eachother, or
a "wait up for me" or "get over here". Its pretty silly.

Gliders also make a similar noise to the one you are
describing when they are constipated. Make sure your
glider isn't.

Gliders also crab, bark, click, wobble, and make happy little
cuddly cooing noises.
