I was in a privileged position, my mice came from a research lab and as such were cleaner than most of the meat served on our plates. All colonies were screened for a huge number of parasites etc every six months. plus I was using a resource that otherwise would be incinerated. I havent given any for months but didnt thin that I wa sbeing unwise.

: : Hey all,
: : I must sound like a wimp, but I couldn't imagine feeding a pinky to my gliders. I have a snake and have no problem feeding him them. I see the gliders eat crickets, and it is very gruesome. They just eat the crickets piece by piece, and couldn't watch that with a pinky. I am sure that is a rather disgusting site.

: I use to feed mine pinkies till I learned that some people had their gliders die and they had necropsies done and low and behold the bacteria that killed them came from the pinky mice that they were feeding to them. So just to play it safe I quit feeding them to mine. Can't say that it ever grossed me out though.
