well, i'm certainly no expert, but i just got some brisky's food and a bunch of informational pamphlets and the answers to some of your questions are in the pamphlets : 1. Why is it that Briskeys must be weaned into and out of a diet? Why can't you just feed that instaed of your regular food? you can. in the pamphlet it describes a number of ways to switch to brisky's. one way is weaning. another way is just changing it all at once. so, i gather you can do either. : 2. What foods can be safely fed with Briskeys? i don't know. probably most any, but the vitamin content will be thrown out of whack, therefore it isn't a 100% complete diet anymore. risk of under/over dosage on vitamins : 3. Is Briskeys the only food they should have because of it being so very balanced? yes. : 4. What about the Mold Factor? i don't know for sure, but i don't think it would mold since it has a very low water content. : 5. What is the safest way to store this so that it continues to be healthy? it can be frozen : 6. What health risks are involved if these precautions are not taken ? probably a risk of under or over dosage on certain vitamins. : 7. Why does it have such a short shelf life ? don't know for sure but probably due to certain ingredients and vitamins contained in it that will go bad or break down and become useless after a while. : 8. Why is it that there are many Gliders that won't eat it at all ? mine does. although he also gets some fruit. : 9. If they don't eat it why are we supposed to offer it alone , on the premise if they have nothing else to eat that they will eat the briskeys? I personally think that is forcing them to eat a certain food even if they don't like it. can't answer that one either. mine eats brisky's and fruit. i hope i was some help. you could always go to the brisky's site at www.brisky.com ot call them at 1-800-462-2464. they have a free sample offer, they send you a bunch of info on it, and they could probably answer all your questions.
