: Hiyas. :) : My boyfriend and I just picked up a cuuuuute little sugar : glider a couple of days ago. We haven't handled her yet, : we're still a bit afraid of her. :) My question is, since : it's going to be the both of us taking care of her, is it : possible that she can bond to the both of us? (As opposed : to just either him or I.) The day we brought her home we : both put a sock close to our body and placed them in the : cage, hoping this would help. What might be the easiest : way to bring her up not favoritizing one or the other? : : Michelle. Michelle, Congrats on the new member of the family! :) I am trying to figure out why you guys are scared of the little baby. I'll bet she can make a big fuss but it is just to scare you. You should be taking her in your pouch or shirt (or whichever you use) already. It will help the bonding process. Over the how to do it because there are the two of you, I am not to sure. They really bond to one person but they do become close to others. Especially if the one that they are bonded to trusts the other person. Sugar gliders go alot by scent...so if you are the one to take the glider around with you, then place your b/f sock in the gliders nesting box. And at nightime/playtime you both play with her. That may help her to bond with the both of you. But you do have to spend alot of time with her and if neither of you can afford that much time you should consider getting another glider to keep her company. Good Luck with the new glider! ;)
