: Hi guys!
: Would it be possible to get tree branches from my own backyard? What would I have to do to make it safe for my baby boy? I have several different kinds of tree in my backyard, and I would definitely sand the sawed ends. Thanks so much, and have a wonderful glidery evening!

You could try bird cage perches, but here are some safe trees you can use: Apple, arbutus, ash, aspen, beech, birch, cottonwood, crabapple, dogwood, elm, fir, hawthorn, larch, madrone, magnolia, manzanita, pine, poplar, redwood, willow. DO NOT USE: apricot, peach, plum, prune, nectarine, almond, black walnut or cherry. the first five belong to the prunis species and can release cyanide when ingested.
