Here's the thing about hair loss...its been
dicussed a lot on this board and the theories
are stress or malnutrition. You seem to have this
covered. Another alternate theory that I was told
a few years ago when the same thing happened to
my glider was that some gliders lose the fur on
their tails as they go through puberty, and once it
has grown back they are mature. Sounds wacky,
but it does seem to be true in a lot of cases I've heard.
With my female glider, she lost the fur, her pink skin
turned black, and she grew thick, black fur. And has been
fine ever since.

I would watch the tail closely and see what happens.
I know this theory sounds a bit screwy, but who knows.

I would take her to the vet immediately if she seems ill in any
other way, or she does not start growing new fur very shortly.
