Females can be just as territorial as males, and yes they sometimes will kill other females. Do not take this situation lightly if you feel like this is more than just play fighting. You have had them for awhile so you probably are familiar with their normal aggressive play fights, and if you feel as if these fights are not merely playful, then I would say to go with your instincts. I would advise that you put them in separate cages that are about a foot away from each other. That way they cannot fight (they won't even be able to bite each other's tails), but they will still know that the other one is still there. Plus they will each have their own territory.
