: : I'm in 7th grade and want to know if anybody has ever brought their glider to school in a belt pack or purse. My glider would just love it! She LOVES attention, we bring her to the mall, to restaurants, to the Big Y, to the Library, and on Vacation, and everywhere else. But my dad won't let me bring her to school! Maybe one day I'll sneak her in! Nobody would know!!! I would like to hear other people's experiences with bring their sugar gliders to school or work or anywhere! Thanks!!!

I teach elementary school and have a sweet little sugar glider that I take everywhere. I hate to say so, Jessica, but I agree with Kevin. I always keep Eos inside my shirt at school, because once another teacher asked me to show Eos to her class. Eos got very frightened and upset, even though no one else touched her. It took her a while to trust me again! Also, as a teacher, I can tell you that your teachers will find out (because gliders are too cute not to show off, and we are all knowing anyway :)) and they will feel like your glider is distracting the other students! I would definitely call home if one of my students brought a glider to school. Perhaps you could work out some kind of a compromise with your Dad and your teachers, though. If you get permission ahead of time, maybe you could get Dad to bring and help you show off your glider in science one day or something. That way, you would get to show her off, the teacher would be okay with it, and your glider stays safe and happy! I know you must miss her when you are at school, but leaving her home is probably the best thing for you and her. Good luck!
