You can you flour I have used it on my poodles when I have cut a nail to short. I prefer the septic pencil but if that is no available you can use flour.

: : : it is recommened to do so, every so often...exactly how often i'm not sure......i normally let my vet do it seeing how i'm too chicken...jsut make sure you don't cut the vein that is there...if you do and it starts bleeding you can use baking soda to pack it shut.
