I also give mine mine-ute amounts of avacado, they love it but it is fattening, If they had their way they would only eat that. Clara is right that the fats are healthier in the avacodo as in most bugs, however the bugs provide certain nutrients they can't be easily found in some foods. The exoskelaton provides the calcium as well as proteins. But I would think it is like human blood, it there was a substitute for it, then the red cross wouldn't need ours.. Most anything given in moderation would be fine for a glider. The things i Never give mine is chocolates, cheese, and fats from meats, I also don't give mine pork although some do. I watch the fats and the preservatives and try to keep the sodium levels down.
