: : I have recently adopted a year old Sugar Glider from a lady who no longer wanted him. I have had him for 5 days now and it is starting to concern me that all he does is sleep all of the day and most of the night. I am thinking he may be depressed . Is there any way of knowing whatI can do to help him so he will be happy and more active??

: : I'm am currently seeking a friend for him , hoping this may help him . He did have a mate before I adopted him. Could this be part of the problem?? PLEASE HELP with info you may have.

: : Thanks,

: Tammy we also got our girls from someone who no longer wanted them.. We had much the same problem, and also a big bitting problem. The gliders that we got were only being fed baby food. We started out by giving them fresh fruits and veggies, cut up everynight, and leadbeaters. Slowly, we would put our hand in the cage and offer treats. I thought they would never come around, and all they did was sleep. I also put them in my pocket in the day time to have them get to know the scent. anyway, after much patients and many treats later, they wake up early and are waiting for us to play with them. Be patient and love them and they will come around. Oh, yea, crickets helped them to start to trust us also. Hope this helps

Everyone; Thank you for all the advice , actually it has been 1 week since I adopted Zippie and I believe he has bonded to me pretty good. I take him to work every day in my pocket and play with him for at least 1hour a nigh. He is starting to come out more everyday :):):)
