I would leave daddy in there. He will be a big help with the little ones. I wouldn't decrease the mealworms, however, I would increase calcium sources (I read somewhere that mealworms don't have calcium, their shell is more like hair than bone). I have also found that plastic nest boxes work better for cleaning and sanitizing than wood.
