: I noticed there was concern about altitude /pressure etc. While I am not advocating flying with your glider, for the record i have done it several times and had no adverse affects. She would sleep in her pouch, throughout the trip and it was never a problem. I am glad you decided not to take her to CA. but I just wanted to let those concerned about the pressure issue.Again, I'm not an expert but have experienced it "first hand"

We, too, have flown with our sugar gliders. We have found, however, that most airlines won't let them on if you ask. We had one situation where they let us carry them on the outbound flight but not on the return flight. We ended up staying an extra day, buying a pet carrier, and shipping them home by Delta Dash.

We've also carried them on without asking the airlines. We only had a problem once--but that one was big! Our flight had been delayed several times, and we were in the air at 11:00 p.m. The gliders were in a soft-side pet carrier that looks very much like a normal carry-on bag. Unfortunately, it wasn't as secure as we would have hoped.

My wife and I were dozing when we suddenly heard a shriek from a woman a couple rows behind us. We both instantly knew what caused the shriek. My wife jumped up and ran back, scooped the glider off the woman and tucked him in her jacket. I just wanted to jump out the window.

We got a lecture from the flight attendant, but everybody around us was interested in the gliders. Even the woman who got the unexpected visit was nice about it.

We don't fly with the gliders any more...
