It's nice to have some good news to tell you sometimes smile

Gideon is eating better. The forcefeeding goes better each time. He's like a baby with a bottle-- he resists at first, but as soon as he gets some in his tummy, he turns to me for more. I've seen him go the the dish a few times on his own, but he's still not eating much on his own. (I've been giving him a chance to eat on his own each evening before feeding him myself.)

I talked to the vet about his balding on his upper body. It was getting worse-- the skin looked red, irratated, papery dry, & so delicate. The vet said he thought it was a microscopic prasite fungus and told me to put anti-fungal cream on it. After just two treatments it looks SOOOO much better. The skin is a healthy pink color; it's not dry; he's not as sensitive about me touching it. I've tried to be careful about the cream-- not leaving enough for him or Simcha to lick much off, rubbing it in lightly so as not to tear the skin, washing my hands thoroughly afterward, etc. He seems much more comfortable.

Simcha is doing much better too. It seems the new diet and extra Calcium have done her wonders also. Her coat looks thick and glossy, and she has MUCH more energy. When I got them they never played & slept MOST of the time. I thought it was because they were adjusting to a new home and after a while I explained to myself that they're 4-5 years old-- not really babies to be playing all the time. How wrong I was. Now Simcha is up for hours at night, she teases the cat through the cage. I've even put her in the big cage to have more room to play. She seems much happier.

I was beginning to have my doubts if Gideon would pull through this. Now it's such a relief to see them both doing better. Gideon still walks like an old, stiff man, but the vet said not to worry too much because it will take a while for his bones to calcify the Calcium we've been giving him. I've been really scared for a while now, it's so good to have some relief. Thank you all for your support.

I am sorry, I had to get angry at you, but you see now how important it was.. I am so very glad he is doing much better.. PLEASE tell me you are making sure he is getting the BML with the neocalglucon.. That is all he needs right now, but he needs enough to help him recover.. Thank you again..
