My sugar glider came out to the barn I keep my horse at with me today, and she had a fun day of sleeping lol, I kept her in a small travel cage about the size of a shoe box. Well on my way home, I was stopped at a red light and this guy rams into the back of me really hard. Well we got the insurance thing squared away and luckily no one was hurt, and both our cars were OK enough to drive away, not even enough damage to fine a report (thanks to the new bumpers honda puts on their cars lol) well obviously my glider was inthe car with me, and her little cage was on the front passenger seat. The guy hit me hard enough to make her cage fly onto the floor. She seems fine and all but she peed all over her pouch. Should I take her to the vet or something? We got hit pretty hard. She doesn't seem to hurt anywhere, she is snuggled in my shirt right now.

It would be a good idea to take her to a vet just to make sure she is ok. Poor Glider!

I would observe her over the night. Did she come out of her pouch during the accident? When you saw her was she still in her pouch or was she on the floor of the cage? Chances are she is ok, BUT I would watch her closely and make sure there isn't anything different about her disposition or physical condition.

um, I don't remember where she was, she seems fine and everything. I think she was on top of her pouch then went in it.I don't really know, it was dark and stuff, and she was just in my shirt but now she in resting in her cage. It will be easier to monitor her later when she is up and playing! She didn't crab or bark or make noise or anything, so I don't know what to think. I don't want to take her to the vet right now because she seems fine, but I will watch her closely. Thanks!

She sounds like she's OK, but keep a close eye on her the next couple of days to see if you notice any changes in here behavior. Good luck.

Just as a not.. Glider pouches are made a whole lot like the crash webbing in some warships, naval vessels, etc. That means that if she/he didnt come out of the pouch, and the pouch was secured on the cage, your glider is probably fine. Gliders almost allways wear their seatbelts.. lol Erik

I'm not sure she was in her pouch because she peed on top of it, she gets nervous in the car and usually climbs around her little travel cage. She seems fine though, played that night and last night a lot, so I think she is fine.

Just a tip....always seat belt in your travel cage, that way it can't fly through the car. Hope all is well.
