My sg (ROXY) barks every night. I play with her six hours a night. She is with me most of the day. There are lots of toys in her cage. But, she still barks every night and wakes me up. I don't go check on her because I don't want her to know that every time she barks, even if I am sleeping, that I will come to her. IS IT NORMAL for her to bark every night? Is she lonely? What can I do?

My gliders only bark when they want something. It sounds like you spend plently of time with Roxy, so is she eating/does she like the food you have given her, do she have water, is her cage clean?? Some times my gliders bark when they want more of me. When she barks, do you check on her? Does she stop barking when you go to her? If everything checks out, she may - although I don't know why - still just want more of you. Good luck.

I feed her the ledbeaters mix, plust fresh fruit, veggies and a little bit of chicken for protein so that she has the 25% protein and 75% fruits and veggies. She eats very well every night, I always make check and follow what she eats very closely. She has fresh water every night and day. Her cage is very clean and big, with branches and toys. When she barks I only go if I am still awake. If she wakes me up barking I do not go, because I do not want her to get used to waking me up. Still, she barks every night at about 5 or 6 a.m. Thanks for letting me know what might be the problem. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know.

Since she is barking about the same time (5-6 am), I would have to say that she is indeed wanting her mom. The fact that she is with you during the day and you spend as much time as you do with her at night, leads me to believe that you have a "momma's girl" on your hands This just means that you have done an excellent job bonding with her. By the way, how long have you had her?

My female glider who I have had for 4mos. barks every night, sometimes also when she is out with me. I just reassure her and I guess that is what she wants. Got a male (pu-whee), she's stopped barking so far even though he is still in a cage right next to her. Any help on this horrible odor? Will it last. Thought she would like company but don't know how long I can stand this rank odor!!!!

It is normal for soem gliders to bark evrynight. Some do and some don't. It just depends..but if tis always at the same time..then thats probably when she is most active and is wanting you to play with her...if you get her a friend she may abrk less...or you may have two gliders that bark everynight.

my gliders bark every night...and there are 4 of them together..mom dad and two babies...they always have plenty of leadbeaters, fruits , vegs etc..i spend time with them every night..so i can only assume they are talking to each other..maybe yours is trying to talk to you (or he likes to talk to himself )

Barking is usually how gliders beckon each other. Sometimes my group will do it to each other. I find it to be the equivalent of yelling for each other across a house. It is very unsual for them to do it all the time. She probably wants to be with you and is a bit lonely. She's getting lots of attention, but some gliders need more company than others. You may consider getting her a buddy (preferably another female or neutered boy).
