I am so excited! Yesterday while holding Nuba, I noticed her tummy looked fatter and discovered two small marble sized bulges in each side of her. She has two joeys in pouch!! smile I talked to Bourbon on the phone today about it and I'm definitely sure now. These two gliders I have now are bringing the joy back into my life that I lost when Arrow died from a seizure from his hypoglycemia (check out the Real Stories section). Arrow was my first glider that I hand tamed and got him from a pet store. These two, Nero and Nuba, I got from a rescue to give a good home to and through Bourbon's help made record time in taming and bonding with them. I only had them for about five weeks. She with joey in pouch when I first got them but because of the stress had lost it. I was told by the original rescuer, Marie, that she had successfully had a baby before so it's not like she's not experienced as a mother. So wish me and them luck and keep us in your prayers. I hope it's not too soon for her to start having babies again. I'm going to be a granny mommee!!!!!!!!! ;)

Thanks to both of you. I've never had glider babies before but if anybody has advice on being a granny please feel free to tell me what to do or what to expect. One further question. Is it still okay to handle her or would I hurt the joeys? I just want to continue the bonding process and don't want to hurt her or the joeys, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Mom will let you know what she'll allow you to do. Many of mine do not like to held when joeys are in the pouch---until just before they are ready to come out. This is not, however, true of all moms. I always handle the joeys as soon as they are OOP. You can touch and pet them while they are still very attached to mom, just do not pull them loose. Most joeys stay out once they are OOP, but I've had a few that felt insecure and would go back into the pouch for quite awhile - there was just one joey, so there was plenty of room for her. These wee wonders grow amazingly fast - like little weeds...they grow up all too fast for me...
