Hi! I posted the message about my sugarglider being a gay since his raping his own brother and all, this has occured for several days now and they both won't eat or nothing. They stay in their woden-home all night long. Well anyhow, I got the tip that told me to get them "Neutered", what is this actually? I'm from Sweden and have never in my life heard this word before so I wonder.. What's it all about? Please help me! What does "Neutered" means? It some kind of surgery to remove his testicles away? And I just can't understand why he is in fact raping his own brother in so many days now!? The little one screams back in a very loud famous pen-sharper noise all the time but he won't be leaved alone. When I put the gay-fellow away under some kinda of plastic pot with holes for air of course and the other ones started jumping around and having fun all night long at once.. so obviously none of the other two wants it to be this way. And I don't! I cant's stand the thought that one of my beloved squirrils turned out gay! Help me! And what's the meaning of the word "Neutered". I'll be greatful..

I dont really know how to explain the procedure of nuetering, but they usually remove the scrotum. I seriously think you should seperate these gliders before they harm each other. If you find a vet to nueter them, then you can put them back together. Please seperate them and put them in different cages before one of them gets hurt!! Angie

I totally agree... You little one is being hurt. He could become seriously injured. This behavior could also end in grave bodly injury and death. She explained neutering well. It's the same thing as "fixing a dog or cat so they wont breed. but I think at this point you need to take them and seperate them. It takes about 60 days for the harmones to go away and even during that time the larger male could still hurt the little one.

I just got mine neutered. You take them to the vet, animal doctor, and they perform a surgical procedure.

When mine were nuetered the vet made a small incision on the scrotum then sugically removed the testes. He then put in a couple of small stitches to close the scrotum back up. If you talk to a veterinarian in your area he should be able to explain it for you even better. I would seperate them in the mean time. good luck!
