I came into the chatroom for the first time a little over two weeks ago looking for help. My little buddy, "Violator", was suffering from the begginings of HLP. I recieved some much needed help and advice. I went to the vet the next day and Violator was treated. I have been giving him his medicine twice a day, everyday since, and have changed his diet somewhat. Today he actually responded when I touched his hind legs by pulling it away! I am very happy with this small but hopeful sign of recovery. I would like to thank Bourbon and Barb....without your help, I'm not sure Violator would be here, let alone on the way to recovery.

You'll be fine as long as your glider continues to get adequate calcium...You were lucky because some times it takes quite awhile for a response. I personally haven't had to deal with HLP with any of my gliders because they've had yogurt from day 1....and 5 years ago people were saying not to feed yogurt....I am glad I didn't listen, and so are the gliders because they LOVE it. Keep us posted on the recovery. Happy holidays!
