i got my gliders two weeks ago, there coming along great. they let me place m hand in there pouch and pet them without any trouble, they also lick my hand to death, so they seem so friendly, so why do they bite the ends off my fingers occasinally. it doesnt seem as if they want me to leave them alone or as if there trying to hurt me, cus i take my hand out sometimes and they crabb until i put it back. i take the bite like im supposed to but it hasnt stoppped. copuld this be teething or something?

I dont know if this helps or not, but mine bites (or rather nibbles) my fingers, too. And since their bottem teeth are longer, I flip my fingers upside down so that the bottom teeth hits the nail and the flesh hits the top jaw. And everytime i do that, my glider stops biting. I don't know what else to do, I guess it's in their nature.

There are such things as love nips and that sounds like what it is .Bourbon's site has a section on biting (along with bonding.)

i have a male glider, and he is approaching sexual maturity, he bites occasionally, never that hard, usually when something is new, or there is a new smell on my fingers. i have read that when male gliders reach maturity, they go through a nippy stage. its very possible that this is what is happening with your gliders.

My male is a little manicurist -- he likes to lick my fingers, then go all around the cuticle and nail with his little teeth. Doesn't hurt, though.
