The bald spot is not there on a male.

Well like they said the bald spot goes away or dries up...and in some they loose their pom pom abd in other the remove the pom pom so it depends on what the vet does.

I have 2 neutered males. One male has the pom-pom, and one doesn't.

Both my boys are neutered and have their scrotum sacks left. The vet could have snipped them off, but their vet was nice enough to leave them. They look like they are intact, but their baldspots are missing (I think it looks better that way anyhow). Murry was older when he got neutered, and still acts very "male." He still pee and rub marks and will mates with Zelda, but he doesn't do it as often as he did before. Loki was neutered at a younger age and never developed "bad habits." With both boys, the odor has improved immensely. It takes a couple months after the operation (testosterone hangs around), but it is the biggest and most favorable difference I've noticed.
