The price of sugar gliders will vary depending on where you live. The average would be $100-$250. (Five years ago people paid as much as $500 each.) You'll need a good large cage, a drip waterer, some toys - plan on at least $150 there. Food again will vary - depending on where you live. You'll need to feed fresh fruit/veggies, protein, calcium source daily. If you are doing research, do get Caroline MacPherson's book SUGAR GLIDERS (publisher Barron's). It is a must have for any glider owner. Since gliders live 11112-15 years and require that you spend time (at least 1 hour) with them daily, they are considered high maintenance by many. Those of us that love the wee wonders consider it very worthwhile, but a glider is certainly not the pet for everyone, especially if he's not prepared for all the care required. Good luck in your decision. You can feel free to email me if you have questions.
