Ask what type of diet they feed all their gliders? Ask if they are handled often. I met a breeder once, and she had over eighty gliders, that tells you that none of her gliders could be that tame.

Ask to see where the gliders live. Is it clean, enough space, enough toys, etc? This will tell you much about how well cared for the gliders are. Ask about any history of illnesses -- some can be hereditary. Especially ask if they have ever had any cases of self mutilation, as the current info indicates that the unnamed nematode could be passed from mother to joey. Ask what vet he/she uses, and if it would be OK with the breeder to ask the vet about them. A breeder should have a good relationship with their vet. Ask about the personalities of the parents -- first, this will tell you what your glider may be like personality-wise; second, it will tell you how much time this breeder really spends with the gliders personally. Ask about any favorite foods or toys or sleeping places, so you can make the new home environment comfortable.

If you have Caroline MacPhersons(sorry, I spelt it wrong) book, it can tell you what ta look for in a healthy joey. Read that over and look for things like bright eyes

a major question to ask is how old is out of the pouch or all together because you can get them very confused and you could get a too young of one or a little too old!!!

When you go to see the joey pay attention to how the breeder handles the joey...also you should see how they interct with the aprents. The parenst should be friendly with the breeder. No biting or crabbing. The baby may crab just a little bit at first...but should appear very comfortable with the breeder and with being handled.
