alex had white (or awfully pale clay colored) poop (slightly soft) this morning. if he was human i'd say it was hepatitis or liver failure. he was just as active as usual, running and playing, didn't seem to be in pain or sick. he had usual meal except for yams. (chicken, grapes, egg shells, glideraide mixed with baby barley cereal flakes (for bulk and extra vitaminins.) and i gavae them rice cereal with applesause for breakfast.

I couldn't say if that is good or bad. I'm not a vet but at long as it is not runny poop I don't think there's anything to be concerned about. Gliders aren't like humans. I've seen light colored poop from mine before though I can't say that it's ever been white. The best bet is to call a vet and make an appointment to make sure nothing is wrong with him. Good luck.

Yeah, the color of their droppings is somewhat dependant on what they eat, but if they have been eating the same stuff and his droppings are different in appearance, then this may not be normal. I'm not the person to rush to the vet for any little thing, but you may want to atleast give your vet a call to get a valid opinion. Good luck!!

If persistent, in humans this would be due to gall bladder disease. (Do gliders even have a gall bladder?) Call the vet if his next stool is the same color. (No need to wait if you are uncomfortable doing so...)

Well, i saw alex poop this morning and haven't caught him doing it again yet. with three in the cage its hard to pin anything on one guy. i tried to get alex up this evening to come out to play and "poop" but he wouldn't come out till i brought the cage (48x21x24 solid steel and hard to move) into the bedroom, a "no play out of cage" zone. i wonder if it's the egg shells. that is kinda new food and they are white. i'll be watching him in the morning play time, when i get up at 4. has yams ever caused white poop?
